Course Objective

The aim of the course is to acquire the skill of planning and implementing the activities in this area by comprehending all aspects of the concept of readiness to school in pre-school period.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the definition of readiness to read and factors affecting readiness
2   To be able to comprehend the dimensions of primary school preparation (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, self care skills).
3   Prepare activities to acquire the reading competence ready for the course
4   The importance of reading and writing preparations, basic concepts, literacy approaches, comprehension.
5   Planning, implementation and evaluation of reading and writing preparation activities appropriate to the pre-school education program.

1 Definition of readiness to read and factors affecting readiness
2 (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, self-care skills), prepare activities to acquire readiness competence
3 the importance of preparations for reading and writing in pre-school education, basic concepts, literacy approaches, factors affecting reading acquisition
4 the development of literacy skills, early literacy,
5 reading skills and subfields; alphabet information (pre-alphabet level, logographic level, partial alphabet step / semi phonetic level, full alphabet step, combined alphabet step / pronunciation)
6 phonological process skills (voice awareness, voice memory, voice use), oral language skills and vocabulary development;
7 preparation for writing (writing awareness),
8 general evaluation, repetition, midterm
9 Planning, implementation and evaluation of reading and writing preparation activities appropriate to pre-school education program.
10 Planning, implementation and evaluation of reading and writing preparation activities appropriate to pre-school education program.
