Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to examine the appropriateness of the content of secondary school chemistry textbooks, to have knowledge about the features and standards that should be in textbooks and to analyze the functioning of textbooks in chemistry teaching from different views.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Understand the importance of the textbook in an effective chemistry teaching
2   2. Understand the features that should be in the textbooks
3   3. Being able to examine the contents of textbooks in terms of their suitability for secondary education
4   4. Be aware of the contribution of current textbooks to meaningful learning
5   5. Be able to comprehend the functioning of textbooks in chemistry teaching
