Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to learn basic concepts of statistics and to define and apply data sets using graphical and numerical methods. In addition, it is aimed that students learn sampling distributions by using simple probability concepts and be able to access confidence interval and hypothesis tests.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describing fundamental elements of statistics
2   Describing types of data
3   Calculating the measures which are used for describing data
4   Probability and sampling distributions
5   Applying the central limit theorem
6   Constructing confidence interval for various parameters
7   Testing statistical hypothesis for various parameters
