Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with the basic concepts and problems of history and philosophy of science. Nevertheless, with the comprehension of historical development of history and philosophy of science, it is aimed for the students to be able to discuss critics about science especially in 20th century.

1   To explain relation between science and philosophy
2   To explain chronologically scientific developments in history
3   To evaluate conditions of emergence of different scientific disciplines
4   To explain principal problems of philosophy of science
5   To evaluate basic critics toward science in 20th century
