Course Objective

This course aims to provide students the ability of selection and usage of audio recording devices for the convinient documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define equipments such as audio recording devices, microphones and cables for the auditory documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork,
2   Behave ethically in the auditory documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork,
3   Select the thechical equipments convinient to the aims of the auditory documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork,
4   Use audio recording equipments for the auditory documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork,
5   Auditory documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork for the purpose of presentation.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Courses
The course are given as theoretical and applicational. Audio recording equipments and their applications in the auditory documentation of musical practices and interviews in the fieldwork are introduced in the theoretical courses. Applicational courses consist of application of these equipments by each student under the supervision of lecturer.
2. Assignments
Assignments are given individually and consist of application of auditory documentation by students and discussion of the results in the classroom.
3. Review Sessions
Assignments are the basis for these sessions. The problems of auditory documentation of students are considered in these classroom sessions.
