Course Objective

This course aims to provide students the understanding of the sources of politics of music in the Republican period and discussion of the results from perspectives of sociology, politics and economics .

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the nationalism and its results which occured in Europe during the 19th century,
2   Define nation-state, nationalism, modernization and late modernization,
3   Interpret the political climate and social structure of the period,
4   Interpret the relations of the intellectual thoughts of the Republican period and its politics of music,
5   Explain the applications of state policiy on music,
6   Present a specific problem of the perion in written and orally.
