Course Objective

The aim of the course is to evaluate the role of women in development within the context of women's poverty and income inequality from historical and theoretical perspectives, to analyze the current and potential contributions of women to development, and to comprehend the importance of the interrelationship between gender equality and development from social, economic and fiscal perspectives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to analyze the status of women in socioeconomic life with the knowledge of theory and practice on development, poverty and income inequality,
2   To be able to analyze the role and importance of women in development from a feminist perspective,
3   To be able to analyze the effects of macroeconomic policies on women's lives and to offer policy recommendations,
4   To be able to analyze the socioeconomic reasons and consequences of women's poverty and gender-based income inequality,
5   To be able to evaluate international policy perspectives on the role of women in development,
6   To be able to analyze the role of women in the Planned Development Period in Turkey from historical, theoretical and practical perspectives,
7   To be able to carry out independent research that will contribute to the literature by synthesizing the knowledge of development, poverty, inequality and women's studies,
