Course Objective

To teach the scope of freedom of religion or belief under art. 9. of ECHR and in the light of E.Ct.H.R.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to know general scope and features of E.C.H.R and its control mechanism
2   Able to know historical background of and theoretical approaches towards freedom of religion or belief
3   Able to know national and international legal provisions on freedom of religion or belief
4   Able to know the legal framework of Art.9 of ECHR and its preparatory works.
5   Able to know the legal constituents of Art.9 of ECHR.
6   Able to know the legal definitions of terms "religion" and "belief" and the discussions on the issue
7   Able to know the decisons of Eur.Ct.H.R. on "forum internum" of freedom of religion or belief
8   Able to know the legal scope of freedom to manifest a religion or belief (forum externum)
9   Able to know the outlooks of manifestations of freedom of religion or belief in the decisions of Eur.Ct.H.R.
10   Able to konow the limitation regime of freedom of religion or belief.
