Course Objective

To show students the adventure of development and transformation of Islamic thought, which may be necessary for spiritual counseling, on the historical plane. To reveal the effects of religion on the individual and society in the context of religious understanding and religious discourse. To examine the relationship between the sense of spirituality and the mentality that shapes religious life.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend the difference between religion and understanding of religion.
2   Will know the types of religious discourses in Islamic societies throughout history.
3   Evaluate the sociological and psychological reflections of religion.
4   Will be able to see the element of spirituality that stands out in religious discourses.
5   Will realize the bonds of spirituality cases of various religious perception also existed.
6   Will learn the role of human element and spirituality from religious discourses.
