Course Objective

The purpose of spirituality education; is to gain the ability of self-expression and improve the quality of life within the integrity of the physical, spiritual and mental existence of the individual. However, student will also gain the ability to resist the possible negative effects that may arise against the individual's holistic existence.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defining spiritual education, having knowledge about its nature and scope. 2   Understanding the place and importance of spiritual education in the individual's life process. 3   Having knowledge about the application areas of spiritual education. 4   Establishing between social change and developments and the individual's need for spiritual education and believes in the need to follow new approaches on the subject.

Week Subject Description 1 Informing about the topics, lectures, and resources of the course and determining the course of the term 2 Basic concepts of spiritual education: Spirituality, Spiritual Care, Spirituality Education, Education, Teaching, Religious Education, Non-formal Education, Non-formal Religious Education, Religion and Care, Religious Care 3 Historical development of spiritual education. Theological foundations of spiritual education 4 Pedagogical and androgogic foundations of spiritual education 5 Target audiences and realization areas of spiritual education 6 Spirituality education in formal and non-formal education 7 Possibilities and Problems of Spirituality Education 8 Midterm Exam 9 Improving cooperation and coordination with institutions and organizations providing Spirituality Education. 10 Introduction of stakeholder institutions in spiritual education (Presidency of Religious Affairs and institutions affiliated to the Presidency) 11 Spirituality Education and Civil Society Organizations 12 New approaches in Spirituality Education 13 Methods and techniques in spiritual education 14 Evaluation
