Course Objective

To have information about description of intraoral tissues, determination of physiological and pathological situations and developing an appropriate treatment plan as well as the surgical applications in the treatment of periodontal diseases, when they are needed and about the biomaterials used, and to refer them to the specialist when necessary.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines the general principles of periodontal surgery.
2   Have sufficient knowledge about the anatomy to be considered in periodontal surgery.
3   Identifies the need for periodontal surgical procedures.
4   Have sufficient knowledge about diagnosis and treatment of furcation lesions.
5   Have knowledge about periodontal plastic and aesthetic surgical methods.
