Course Objective

To have information about description of intraoral tissues, determination of physiological and pathological situations and developing an appropriate treatment plan as well as the surgical applications in the treatment of periodontal diseases, when they are needed and about the biomaterials used, and to refer them to the specialist when necessary.

Assessment Criteria

1. The student should be able to describe the general principles of periodontal surgery.
2. The student should be able to describe the anatomy to be considered in periodontal surgery.
3. The student should be able to identify the need for periodontal surgical procedures.
4. The student should be able to have information about the diagnosis and treatment of furcation lesions.
5. The student should be able to have information about periodontal plastic and aesthetic surgical methods.
