Course Objective

At the beginning of the 20th century, the aim is to grasp the technical, ideological and aesthetic quests in photography, its relation with the art movements of the period of photography and its contribution to the development of photographic language of historical and social development.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this lesson, students will, 1. Be able to understand the emergence process of photography
2   2. Be able to comprehend the relations of photography with the social structure in the early 20th century
3   3. Understand the place of photography in contemporary art movements
4   4. Be able to recognize art movements, artists and works that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century
5   5. Be able to discuss relationship between social history events and history of photography
