Course Objective

The aim of this course, learning the advanced statistical concepts used in the field of oncology and learning the cancer-specific statistical analysis.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to know the cancer epidemiology
2   Acquire knowledge of planning processes in cancer research
3   Be able to know scale of life quality , survival analysis, analytical and clinical validation
4   Be able to know Multivariate analysis methods and multiplex gene analysis
5   Be able to apply basic statistical methods specific to cancer research

1 The distinguishing features of cancer research, the basic concepts of the epidemiology of cancer
2 The general principles of cancer staging systems, the general principles of classification systems for cancer
3 Response analysis of cancer treatment The distinguishing features of descriptive analysis on cancer research
4 Quality of life scales, assessment of quality of life scales
5 The basic principles of research planning on cancer and the role of statistics
6 The importance of evaluation in cancer research, cancer risk concept
7 Sensitivity, specificity analysis, and ROC curves
8 The censored survival analysis, period-specific risk and risk ratio
9 survival analysis on cancer research,: life table method of survival analysis
10 Studies of cancer survival analysis: Kaplan-Meier survival analysis method, comparison of survival curves
11 Multivariate methods on survival analysis
12 Other multivariate methods of cancer research, multiple regression, logistic regression,
13 ANOVA, MANOVA
14 Multiple gene analysis of cancer research
15 Important of cancer statistics in interpreting the results
