Course Objective

The objectives of this course are to; - understand the role of exercise and health related physical fitness in the improvement and maintenance of total health as an integrated concept. - understand the physiological and morphological bases for the prescription of exercise designed to enhance aerobic fitness, body composition, muscular fitness, and neurological fitness. - attain a conceptual understanding of fundamental physiological principles as they pertain to human adaptation to acute and chronic physical activity. - use advance knowledge in Exercise Physiology for clinical application

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to learn acute and chronic responces of physiological systems to exercise.
2   To be able to learn fundemental physiological basis of performance related physical fitness.
3   To be able to compare differences between gender, physical activity level and intensity in terms of physiological basis.
4   To be able to evaluate articles related to exercise physiology.
5   Determining of exercises intensity

2 Pulmonary ventilation and mechanics
3 Abstract due and presentations
4 Gas exchange and transport -the oxyhemoglobin dissociation or assocition curve - transport of oxygen -transport of carbondioxide
5 abstract due and presentations
6 Acute and chronic adaptation to exercise; Venous return
7 abstract due and presentations
8 Fick s equation and application of equation to exercise. - Hemodynamics; Flow resistance, regulation at rest and during exercise
9 Control mechanisms for Heart and respriration
10 Abstract due and presentations
11 Different effects of exercise types on the endocrine system
12 Abstract due and presentations
13 Different effects of exercise types on the immune system
14 Abstract due and presentations
15 Final exam
