DEGREE PROGRAMMES

: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING - NON THESIS (EVENING PROGRAM)

General Description

History

The Industrial Engineering Department was founded in 1972 within the Engineering Science Faculty of Ege University by Kemal Karhan, İlter Akat and Gündüz Balkan. The Department became a part of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Ege University in 1978 and then joined the Engineering Faculty of Dokuz Eylül University in 1983. The department offers graduate programs within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The language of the undergraduate program is Turkish while Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs are offered in English.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

This degree enables the holder to perform the tasks related to quality management, design and certification in organizations. Our Graduate Programs provide students with the opportunity of detailed information and expertise in various fields of Industrial Engineering. Therefore, our graduate students have employment opportunities in the positions of manager, specialist, quality assurance engineer, research and development engineer, marketing and sales manager and purchasing engineer in production and service sectors as well as having an academic career at universities:
Almost all of our graduate students have a chance to be employed in public or private sector related to their specialization areas. Nearly 80 % of our graduates are being employed in private sector institutions and 15 % in public sector.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to third cycle programmes.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

In addition to the obligatory courses, students register to elective courses with the approval of their supervsors. If necessary, on the consent of their supervisor, they can also register to courses from other programmes (from DEU or other universities). It is obligatory to register MAT5101 Applied Mathematics (3 0 0) or MAT5102 Numerical and Approximate Methods (3 0 0) with approval of the supervisor. The registration must be noticed to the Institute during course registration period by the supervisor.
