History |
Dokuz Eylül University Social Sciences Institute Sport Management Department was established in 2023. It currently conducts the Master s Degree in Sport Management (Thesis) as an interdisciplinary program. Designed to meet the need for professionals with both theoretical and practical expertise in the field of sport management in Turkey, and to foster a career-oriented path in this profession, the medium of instruction in the program is Turkish. |

Specific Admission Requirements |
It is necessary to have an acceptable score from the Bachelor's Degree, Transcript, Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or equivalent GRE, GMAT and Language Proficiency exams in the same or related disciplines, and an acceptable GPA earned at the undergraduate degree and an acceptable weighted score according to the ALES score. Exceptional cases regarding whether or not an ALES and Foreign Language score will be required are included in the Institute's announcement. However; ALES is not required for the admission of students to the main art and department branches of the institutes of the programs of the Conservatory programs and Fine Arts Faculties that accept students only with special talent exams, and for the applications of graduates of PhD/Art Proficiency/Specialization in Medicine/Specialization in Dentistry/Specialization in Veterinary Medicine/Specialization in Pharmacy to the master's programs. Final acceptance depends on the evaluation of the relevant academic unit commission. The admission conditions of international students are decided by the Institute's Board of Directors. |

The aim of the program is to train scientific experts who can conduct scientific research in relevant fields including management, sports management, general business, sports management, sports marketing, sponsorship, sports law, sports sociology, sports economics and economy and other social content topics. |

Graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities, including sports clubs, federations and public institutions. They can also work in private sector sports and recreation facilities, companies that produce or market sports equipment, and media organizations. Finally, it is also possible to establish their own enterprises and provide independent consultancy or sports organization management services. They can also continue their academic careers and start their doctoral education and advance their careers in this direction. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the Course Introduction Form prepared by the relevant faculty member/s and included in the Information Package. The relevant articles of the DEU Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation are applied regarding exams and course success grades. |
Graduation Requirements |
The Master's program consists of a total of 120 ECTS credits, including the thesis, related courses (53 ECTS), specialization field course (4 ECTS), Seminar (3 ECTS) and thesis study (60 ECTS). Students must have a GPA of at least 2.50/4.00 and must have passed all courses with at least CB/S/TP grades. |
