DEGREE PROGRAMMES

: CLINIC SLEEP AND STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS

General Description

History

Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören is the head of department of Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Sleep and Conscious States. Until recently, organism s functioning and diseases have only been investigated during wakefulness states, and now there is a growing interest on sleep research in both Basic Medicine Science and Clinical sciences. These studies reveals that organism shows different reactions during sleep and the physiological reactions also vary in parallel with these reactions. The program aims to prepare/train modern individuals with knowledge and skills in sleep and different conscious states (anesthesia, coma etc.), brain- body functioning and biological rhythms, monetarization, brain and measuring methods, sleep quality and sleep disorders. For this purpose, the program brings together expert scientists from various clinical fields such as anesthesia, biophysics, physiology, pulmonary diseases, ear-nose-throat, neurology, psychiatry, biotechnology and engineering. There is no other national program that structured on the investigation of physiological and pathological process in sleep and other conscious states, developing and teaching suitable technologies (skill and knowledge development)
