Course Objective

To comprehend the basic concepts of language, speech and communication. Gaining the features and development of language components. Gaining the basic stages of language development and the factors that are effective in language development in the context of approaches to language acquisition. Gaining the knowledge of comparing language and communication disorders in hearing impaired with normal language development.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to explain the relationship between the concepts of communication, language and speech.
2   Be able to list the basic properties of language components.
3   Be able to explain the factors that are effective in language development.
4   Be able to define the basic stages in language development.
5   Be able to list the basic features in the development of language components.
6   Be able to explain the language and communication characteristics of the hearing impaired.
