Course Objective

The aim of this course is to summarize, compare, and evaluate the studies conducted in the fields of giftedness and learning difficulties both nationally and internationally.

1   Compares definitions of intelligence and intelligence theories.
2   Explains the characteristics of gifted individuals.
3   Evaluates theories of giftedness within the framework of the characteristics of gifted individuals.
4   Provides examples of diagnostic tools for gifted individuals.
5   Defines learning difficulties and explains their types.
6   Describes the characteristics of individuals with learning difficulties.
7   Examines individuals with learning difficulties within the context of the literature.
8   Provides examples of diagnostic tools for individuals with learning difficulties.

Midterm exams are conducted in written form.

Assignments/presentations may be done in written or oral form depending on the type of assignment given.

Attendance exams are conducted in written form at any time during the semester.
