Course Objective

The aim of this course is to research current studies on learning disability in our country and in the world. It is to investigate the problems in reading, writing and mathematics with learning disabilities and to compare the studies on these issues in Turkey and in the world.

5 Definitions of intelligence, development of intelligence and intelligence tests
6 The criteria of higher intelligence, Pentagonal theory, The characteristics of gifted people
7 The categorical and hierarchical nature of higher/superior intelligence
8 Midterm Exam
9 Meta theoretical analysis of giftedness (higher intelligence) theories and Critical period model of giftedness
10 Identificaiton of gifted students
11 Problems in identification
12 Giftedness and creativity
13 Giftedness in Turkish Culture
14 Discussing the findings of the interview
