Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide apprehending the concept of globalization analytically and being able to evaluate the possible consequences due to the effects of the interaction between globalization and global NGO s on nation-states. From the beginning, the global NGO s and their relationship with democracy and citizenship will be analyzed and concepts and structures will be used in this analysis.

1   be able to use the terminology about globalization, civic society, democracy and citizenship effectively
2   apprehend the multidimensional outcomes of globalization
3   develop awareness about the roles of NGO s in a global manner
4   be able to categorize NGO s according to their fields, structures and activities
5   be able to analyze current discussions on these topics
