Course Objective

In this course, the public sphere will be heoretically discussed as a concept. The state, public opinion, media, women, politics, civil society and the city will be discussed with the concept of public sphere in the historical process.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Acquire basic knowledge about the Concept of Public Space.
2   Learn the theories about the Concept of Public Space.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

To start a sustainable dialog with the students through mutual conversations about their "works", and identifying the references to contemporary art by making reading/watching suggestions in parallel to the works produced.

Assessment Criteria

LO 1-2: It will be evaluated with the questions to be asked in the midterm exam.
LO 3-5: It will be evaluated with the questions to be asked in the final exam.
In addition, students' preparation for the lecture and participation in the discussion will determine the final evaluation.
