Course Objective

Awareness raising and reporting on the main cause of violence against women, risk factors, frequency, how this particular violence affects women's health and whole life, with which dynamics, prevention of violence, protection of women, recognition of health consequences and practices in our country and in the world within the scope of relevant national and international legal regulations to develop knowledge and attitudes. Gender inequality and our sexist prejudices; how it affects individual and social life, especially education and health, and how different professions will contribute to gender equality will be examined. In this context, we will review empirical psychological studies related to violence agains women.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

3   to be able to comprehend the effects of violence against women on individual and community health
4   be aware of specific types of violence such as sexual violence
