Course Objective

In order to gain the accumulation required for translation; international organizations (both intergovernmental and non-governmental international organizations) under the themes of security, development, environment, social and humanitarian issues, are covered including historical, theoretical and political framework.

Within the scope of the course, midterm and final exams will be held. class participation will be also evaluated.

Assessment Criteria

The exams will consist of three parts. The first part is up to measure the basic concepts covered in the course. The second part will help students to improve their ability to interpret and analyse their knowledge via long-answer essay questions. In the last part, students are supposed to make short text translations.

1. There is an obligation to attend at least 70% of the courses,
2. Weekly readings are expected to be completed for active participation in lectures and discussions,
3. Within the scope of the course, students are required to study on the terminology list.
