Course Objective

Aims of the course are to describe diagnostic imaging instruments, to perform acceptance tests, quality control, and calibration and to evaluate image quality. However, the other aim of this course is also to define dose reduction and radiation safety on the imaging instruments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to describe power supply circuits of the equipment which use both diagnostic and therapy
2   Able to describe digital imaging systems
3   Able to describe Computed Tomography (CT)
4   Able to describe image quality of CT.
5   Able to perform acceptance tests, calibration and quality control tests of CT.
6   Able to determine the dose and dose reduction methods.
7   Able to describe special digital techniques (such as C-armed)
8   Able to describe Ultrasonography
9   Able to perform acceptance tests, calibration and quality control tests of Ultrasonography
10   Able to describe Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment
11   Able to describe imaging quality and contrast of MRI.
12   Able to perform acceptance tests, calibration and quality control tests of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
