Course Objective

The course objectives are to present the difference between modernism and modern understanding of art, and to introduce theories of art essential to modernism by reading currents in modernist philosophy, and to focus on the time of the emergence of postmodernism in the realm of art, and to investigate the critiques directed towards postmodernism.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   By the end of this course students will be able to comprehend depth models that are constituent elements for Modernism.
2   distinguish the differences between Modernism and Postmodernism and discern the characteristic properties of both theories.
3   Raise arguments for the solution of the related problems and convey these solutions to others.
4   arrive at new philosophical problems,
5   ground the answers to these problems on safe foundations.
