Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the differences and innovations in education system of Turkish calligraphy art by comparing with the classical system and to provide students the ability of perceiving, interpretating and presenting new design examples with a new perspective.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the contemporary examples of Turkish calligraphy art will be interpretated by comparing them with classic pieces and a presentation will be done by preparing designs with the examples of contemporary Turkish calligraphy art.

The course begins with theoretical description, drawing with the help of visuals and personal applications about related subjects. Students who are late have right to enter the course in next half hour. Students who come to class after that time are evaluated as attended the half of the class. All of the attendances are evaluated in order to percentages given above. At the end of the classes, the subject of next class is announced to students as research subject. At the beginning of the next class, stages of the works are examined, mistakes are criticized and discussed; then the students begin their new application in studios.

Participation on courses take in the course,even those from course of afterthe start time are taken into consideration the participation of half a course. Towards the end of each lecture will be covered inthe next lesson the student is offered as asubject of study and reseaResarch studends of the subject matterof the designated day, makes a presantation on the subject of research provides an active class participation.
