Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine a variety of theories of organizational behavior and social psychology which provides the foundations of organizational behavior research. Throughout the course students will discuss different theories and research programme. These discussions will be backed by major social psychology theories as well. .

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Analyze the concept of organizational behavior from multiple perspectives.
2   Synthesize organizational behavior concepts with social psychological theories.
3   Discuss major contributions and drawbacks of theories with respect to scientific development
4   Develop oral/written communication skills; articulate and defend his/her position.

Assessment Criteria

The midterm and final exams will cover weekly course topics and theoretical and empirical scientific research discussed in class.
Term work will include a term project in the form of a written conceptual review on a topic of interest. Students will begin this at the start of the semester and submit it at the end of the semester.
This will be evaluated based on the four elements specified in the rubric below:

Rubric for Term Work /Project:

1) Introduction (15 points): Students must present a clear, concise introduction of the topic with a compelling rationale for its importance. They must clearly state the objective of the review.
2) Literature Review and Theoretical Framework (40 points): Students must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the topic by integrating a wide range of relevant theories and studies. Students must identify and critically evaluate key debates, gaps, and the evolution of theoretical perspectives. Students must demonstrate an ability to synthesize complex ideas and research findings to reveal new insights.

3) Discussion and Future Research Directions (30 points): The term project must involve a thoughtful, innovative discussion that builds on identified gaps to propose compelling future research directions. The project must clearly articulate the potential theoretical and practical implications of suggested research.

4) Writing Quality and APA Style (15 points): Writing must be clear, concise, and well-organized, demonstrating a high level of scholarly articulation with flawless adherence to APA style.
