Course Objective

In this course, genetically complex diseases, genetic epidemiological methods and interpretation of genetic studies in complex genetic diseases will be discussed. Additionally, molecular and statistical methods will be shown and a genetic data analysis will be performed.

1   Learning genetic methods that are used in neuroscience
2   Learning the principles of genetic epidemiology
3   To have knowledge about genetic structure of complex genetic diseases in neuroscience
4   Learning the structure of SNPs and their functions
5   Understanding GWAS and their interpretation
6   Learning candidate gene studies and their interpretation
7   Learning laboratory techniques and statistical programs used in GWAS and candidate gene studies and analyzing data
