Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the smart building concept in architecture and to further the integration of smart building technologies into architectural design methodologies and theory within the understanding of this concept.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Each week, students will prepare presentations in line with readings and research, and the course will proceed through the discussion of these presentation topics. Each week's presentations will focus on a specific theme. The number and duration of presentations will be determined by the number of students taking the course. The presentations will be delivered with a visual and a written report in which the discussions in the class are conveyed in the week after the presentations are over. This assignment will constitute 30% of the grade with 10% from the presentation, 10% from the report on the topic and 10% from contribution to class discussion.

1. Students are expected to attend the class fully prepared to discuss the subjects and other related material.
2. Late submissions will be subject to a different evaluation.
3. All kinds of plagiarism will result in a disciplinary action.
4. Instructor might do quiz or exercises in the term. Their marks will be considered in the assignment and participation notes.
