Course Objective

The aim of the course is to show how mathematical modeling is applied in the decision-making processes in the service and manufacturing sector and to ensure the use of the Lingo Optimization Software in the solution of the models developed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to create mathematical models for problems in the service and manufacturing sector
2   To be able to solve problems using the Lingo Optimization Modeling Language
3   To be able to analyze Lingo solution reports and to perform sensitivity analysis with Lingo
4   To have the competence of working, project reporting and presenting by taking part in an optimization project

4 Use of Sets in LINGO, Types of Sets, @SUM, @MIN, @MAX, @FOR Set Looping Functions, DATA Inputs
5 Development of Sample Models According to Set Types (Workforce, Days-On Scheduling, PERT, CPM, Matching, Assignment Problems)
6 @WRAP, @SIZE, @IN, @INDEX, @BOUND, @GIN, @BIN Functions and Explanations with Samples
7 Goal Programming Applications
