Course Objective

To enable students to gain general knowledge on the contemporary tafsir; prominenet scholars of tafsir and their Works; contemporary tafsir Works; basic principles of the methodology of understanding and interpretation of the Quran.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They will get knowledge on contemporary exegesis on Quran.
2   They will gain historical understanding on modern Scholars of exegesis, their Works and methodology, history of tafsir and tafsir schools
3   They will know that they are supposed to understand the Quran based on the context and the pretext of the verses.
4   They will learn classical and modern methodological books on tafsir, and main topics and sources of the methodology of tafsir in detail.
5   They will learn the emergence of the methodology of tafsir and the modern change within it.

10 Linguistik tafsir: pretext-context-text
11 Uslubu'l-Qur'an; huruf-u mukataa, Hitabu'l-Qur'an
12 Garibu'l-Qur'an, meani'l-Qur'an, i'rabu'l-Qur'an
13 "Muhkem" and "Mutesabih" in the Quran
14 Hermenutic method of tafsir
