Course Objective

In this course; the aim is to learn basic techniques to students in biochemistry laboratory.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can determine glucose, pyruvate, lactic acid and vitamin C and discuss the results.
2   2. Can determine the level of lipid peroxidation in a biological source, determine the amount of cholesterol.
3   3. Will be able to plan and implement a study for the determination of hemoglobin, uric acid and urea and interpret the results.
4   . Will be able to examine the experimental steps for microbial protein production by fermentation technology, and discuss the purification methods of the obtained protein.
5   5. Na, K, Ca gibi minerallerin tayinini gerçekleştirebilir, kolon kromatografi tekniğini uygulayarak bitki pigmentlerini ayırabilir.

Assessment Criteria

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation are carried out with mid-term and final exams, active participation to the lecture, reports. The lecturer informs the student about the assignments and their collection dates within first four weeks. The assignments with signatures are collected within the last two weeks.
