Course Objective

This course is fundamental to Statistics education. The goal is to help students learn necessary skills to calculate probabilities using sampling distributions, grasp the central limit theorem, form confidence intervals, perform hypothesis testing and to interpret covariance and correlation.coefficient.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Calculating probabilities using the sampling distribution of the sample mean
2   Applying the central limit theorem
3   Sampling distributions: Calculating probabilities using t and Z distributions
4   Sampling distributions: Calculating probabilities using F and chi-squared distributions
5   Constructing confidence intervals for the mean, proportion and variance
6   Testing statistical hypothesis about the mean, proportion and variance
7   Interpreting covariance and correlation coefficient
