Course Objective

Further development of media competence with relevance to students role as future teachers; acquaintance in the handling of different media in classroom situations considering the specific advantages and disadvantages of each medium, to enable students to design their own teaching materials for different types and groups of learners, learning contexts, media, language levels and language skills

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students can anaylse and evaluate classical and new media regarding their specific advantages and disadvantages in classroom situation
2   The students can use different media for specific purposes
3   The students can analyze teaching materials regarding their design, their degree of difficulty and their appropriateness for certain groups of learners and for the specific foreign language skills
4   The students can create teaching units for A1, A2 and B1-level for different media and the development of different language skills
5   The students can reflect their own teacher role using different media in the classroom
