Course Objective

To learn the activities related to map and field studies and to teach the necessary skills in this context such as plan, map, sphere, atlas, compass, GPS, coordinates, use of symbols, direction design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to recognize the use of maps in fieldwork
2   Using GPS and compass to determine direction and coordinates on the ground, comprehend map-compass-GPS relation
3   Preparation of digital maps to be used in the field
4   Understanding the importance of thematic maps in education and learning how to prepare thematic maps in digital environment
