Course Objective

Gaining the knowledge and skills of making self promotion through right and effective personal promotional tools,
Gaining the ability to promote and convey a subject, a study, using the right and effective presentation methods
Gaining the ability to prepare and implement self promotional tools including one's own experiences and studies
Gaining the ability to make applications related to one's own personal promotion. Preparing of business cards, monograms, digital portfolio, printing press portfolio, manual portfolio in accordance to this direction.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of the training given in this course, the students are expected to gain the following skills: Knowledge about effective presentation techniques,
2   Ability to prepare presentations using effective presentation techniques,
3   Learning about the tools to make self promotion and preparing one's own self promotional tools through these tools,
4   Learning the methods of preparing portfolios for the professional arena.
5   The ability to prepare portfolio samples with characteristics that will appeal to various fields of expertise, using one's own studies.
6   Possess social and scientific ethic values

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

*- Concepts will be conveyed by presentation techniques, all concepts will be supported by exemplifying with printed/visual publications and various products of visual arts (film, theatre, stage design).
*- Drawing applications and simple techniques will be transferred with an exactly identical application, cognitive, sensory and psychomotor behavior will be gained with the application-experience technique, and examples will be prepared from printed publications, sections of related works in the visual arts and sample presentations prepared in the field.
*- The assignments will be followed with structured invention technique, data on the principles, concepts and solutions of possible problems that should be included will be given by the instructor of the course and the examples will be organized by the instructor. By asking questions, students will be helped to analyze the data they have and reach conclusions.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1- In-class applications made in the learning-teaching process in the workshop will be evaluated with "Grades" in order to increase student success and motivation and reduce assignment load.
2- The evaluation of the assignments will be made with the "evaluation chart".
3- Presentation grade, effectiveness of the method used in the prepared presentation, preparation method and presentation by the student will be evaluated with grades, "technical evaluation chart" will be used for evaluation.
4- In-class applications made within the learning-teaching process that will take place according to the course plan will be evaluated with grades and "technical evaluation chart" will be used for evaluation.

Assessment Criteria

1- The applications and sample practices to be made in the workshop will be evaluated with the "technical evaluation chart" and the "ability to apply the technique" will be measured. These applications will take place in the classroom with the help of the relevant instructor.
2- Regarding the assignments to be given;
Originality, source-data scanning, presentation-expression method will be evaluated through a scale that includes technical and aesthetic criteria

Course Policies and Rules


Minimum 80% participation in each of class and in-class practices is mandatory.
Every practice is a whole and products not completed will not be assessed with the mark.
Starting with the requirement that practices should be learnt under the guidance of the academician, practicing and passing mark should be measured with competency and effort of the student;
Products and applications of the students created out of class not realizing the learning process by applying, not participating in applied teaching works will not be included in the mark evaluation
