Course Objective

In order to develop the existing knowledge on language and basic techniques of performing on stage, this course intends to further support artistic development; to support basic acting skills and the ability to improvise, interpret and create by creative language subtility.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1- Lectures
The lectures cover the main domain in field of language and the lecturer coordinates exercises to aid students in creative speaking.
2- Exercises
Obtained information are further supported by in-class examples, which are analyzed by students who in turn prepare related assignments. The task is also submitted in the form of comprehensive written reports.
3- In-class discussions
Assignments prepared by students are opened to debate and criticisim in class. The main criteria for this stage is to have proper use of language and creativity in interpretation . Students are able to test the impact of their presentation upon spectators, which further guides the students in reaching a level of quality in their tasks.

Assessment Criteria

The assessment criteria involve compelling students to the best of their abilities in use of language, not be distracted in terms of their in-class concentration, working in harmony with other students, creating new spheres with regard to originality and creativity and coherence in disciplined work.
The grade obtained will depend upon:
a- Participation in class
b- Concentration and creativity in class
c- Success in exercises
d- Level of students contribution to formation of an effective, creative and constructive atmosphere in lectures.

Course Policies and Rules

1- Students must attend 80% of the lectures.
2- Students cannot enter the lecture once it is started.
3- Any undisciplined or inappropriate behaviour during class hours results in being excluded.
4- Absence during submission of assignment is equal to not having prepared any assignment.
5- Students need to wear sneakers and sportwear during classes.
6- Students must participate in evaluation (criticism) for exercises.
7- Cause of any interruption in teamwork is considered as individual failure.
