Course Objective

To raise awareness of the students on the art of diction, to improve the physical and verbal communication skills of the students, to support the students to convey their thoughts and feelings by choosing the right words and using the right voice and pronunciation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines verbal communication skills.
2   Have general knowledge about the art of diction.
3   Have the tools that can help him/her transfer his/her legal knowledge effectively.
4   Have an idea about effective speech preparation techniques.
5   Explains the concepts of gender differences and effective communication in speech

2 Anatomy and physiology of the vocal apparatus Introduction to the relationship between sound and breath: How do we breathe What are the breathing patterns What is diaphragmatic breathing and why is it needed Practice of diaphragmatic breathing.
3 Breathing and articulation exercises (1): the quality of voice skill and breathing practice A. The volume of the voice B. The intensity of the voice C. The tone of the voice Examining the structure of vowels formed by the regular vibration of the vocal cords and pronunciation exercises
4 Articulation: according to the structures of the consonants separation and knuckle exercises
