Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide descriptive and solution-oriented information on the protection of cultural heritage, and to teach how museums can participate in this process and be effective. The origin of the concept of cultural heritage and the dimensions of the destruction faced by cultural assets in the process until the formation of this concept, the content and purpose of international agreements prepared in this way for the protection of cultural assets, and the fight against anti-trafficking smuggling will be discussed in detail for the course. The main subject of this course is how the rooted problems related to the protection of cultural heritage can be solved with the active participation of museums.
