Course Objective

In advanced epidemiology, the study design focuses on the development and design of studies using three main study designs. Public health research: cohort studies, case control studies and randomized studies. Developing a working question, determining a working population, recruitment and recording, exposure assessment, determination of valid results, prejudice and confounding, analytical thoughts, randomization and blanking, monitoring negative events, participants' well-being, ethical considerations, reporting and interpretation findings. Designing a suitable study that uses each of the study designs to criticize published research using each of the study designs and to address a research question and question.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows the concept of public health and research methods.
2   Understand and analyze observational and experimental research types.
3   Apply sampling methods.
4   Can make literature review and evaluate publications.
5   Ask a working question, create and apply the design.
