General Description

History

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy Department was approved on 11th of September, 2011 by The Council of Higher Education (39556) under the framework of Heath Sciences Institute of our university and Cardiopulmonary Master of Science Program was open in to education on 2012- 2013 education year. The duration of the program is 2 semester lesson and 2 semestre thesis, totally 4 semestre. Programs education language is Turkish. Also,cardiopulmonary physiotherapy PhD Program was open in to education on 2022- 2023 education year. The duration of the program is 3 semester lesson and 3 semestre thesis, totally 6 semestre.

Specific Admission Requirements

irst Cycle Degree in the same or in related disciplines, Transcript, Acceptable score on ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) or Equivalent GRE, GMAT score. Acceptable score on Language Proficiency Tests. Acceptable weighted score based on the first cycle cumulative grade point average (GPA) and ALES score. The exceptions to the requirements of ALES and Foreign Language Proficiency scores is announced by the Graduate School. However, ALES requirement is waived for the admissions to the second cycle graduate programs offered by the Conservatory and the departments of Fine Arts Faculty, where students are admitted only by the Artistic Aptitude Test as well as for the graduates of doctorate /arts proficiency/medical residency/ dental residency/ veterinary residency/ pharmaceutical residency programs. Final admission is based on the evaluation of the related academic unit committee. International student admission requirements are decided by the Graduate School Executive Committee.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

Profile of the Programme

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy Doctoral Program courses are carried out at the Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in Dokuz Eylul University Health Campus Campus.
The general aim of the program; Providing education and health services in the field of Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in our country and in the world, who can grasp the philosophy of cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, transfer their knowledge and experience to the relevant fields, develop new strategies in the fields of education and practice, or have the ability to develop the existing system, who are innovative, researching, questioning and transforming the acquired knowledge into a product. To train Doctor Physiotherapists who can work in institutions.
Another aim of doctoral programs is to train faculty members who can produce solutions to the problems of the related discipline and produce projects that strengthen the field of application.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

The student must take 30 ECTS each semester. 150 ECTS out of a total of 240 ECTS must be thesis work. During the doctorate education, a total of 90 ECTS (including 12 ECTS Specialization Areas) must be completed in three semesters. Must take at least 20 ECTS from common courses (Research Culture, Research Methods and Transferable Skills) and at least 20 ECTS from Discipline-Based and Laboratory Skills courses during the course taking. In addition, they can take 20 ECTS courses from common courses, discipline-Based and Laboratory Skills courses and/or from other programs or institutions. In the 1st semester, the student; Research Topics Related to Thesis I, 2nd semester; Thesis-Related Research Topics II course is required to be taken. It is obligatory for the student to take an ethics course/course during the course period.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the Course Description Form, which is prepared by the relevant faculty member/s and included in the Information package. DEU regarding exams and course grades. The relevant articles of the Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations and the Institute's Teaching and Examination Practice Principles are applied. In order to be successful in the course, it is necessary to get at least 75.

Graduation Requirements

4 years, 2 semesters in 1 year, 15 weeks per semester, 240 ECTS. In order to graduate from the program, it is necessary to take courses equivalent to 78 ECTS, of which 45 ECTS is required, to take 12 ECTS in a field of specialization, and to complete a thesis work for 150 ECTS. Must complete 240 ECTS credits in total. Must complete each course with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50/4.00 and a minimum grade of 2.50/4.00 (CB/S/TP).
