: NATURAL BUILDING STONES AND GEMSTONES

General Description

History

The Department of Natural Building Stones and Gem Stones, which completed its establishment as a master's program with thesis as of 01.10.2004 within the body of The Graduate School of Science and Applied Science of Dokuz Eylul University, and started its graduate education by accepting students as of 18.09.2005, actually includes 2 different branches of science.
One of them; "GEMOLOGY", which deals with unique mineral, rock and petrified organic material type materials that can be collected under the name of gemstones, and "MARBLE", which deals with all kinds of natural rock types that can be used for decorative and covering purposes. While students can take common courses in these two sciences, they also have the opportunity to specialize in only one of them.

In the Department, the language of instruction is Turkish with English support.
