Course Objective |
Natural stones are frequently use as building material both engineering and architecture. They can be use various purpose in architecture such as load-bearing, cladding, covering or filling materials. Natural stones have been used in load bearing wall of traditional construction system in architecture. However, they are frequently in use as a cladding material in contemporary architecture. Therefore in this course, types, properties, installation systems and application methods of stone slabs in architecture, will be examined. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The course is taught in a lecture, research assignment, class presentation and discussion format. All class members are expected to attend and both the lecture and seminar hours and take part in the discussion sessions. |

Course Policies and Rules |
One mid-term examination will averaged and affect the grade by 25%. Each student work on a research subject of application methods of natural stones. Students must present their research subject and his presentation will be averaged and affect the grade by 25%. Submission of the research assignment as a final exam will 50% of the resulting grade. |
