Course Objective

Increasing biomarkers are identified in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant and benign diseases. In this course, biomarker detection methods, and the features and activities of pathologic biomarkers in benign and malignant diseases, in a system-based approach, will be discussed. Thus, it is aimed to acquire information about molecular pathologic biomarker development methods, use of biomarkers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to discuss the definition of "biomarkers" in diseases
2   To be able to discuss the methods of detection and development of biomarkers
3   To be able to discuss auxiliary histochemical and immunohistochemical biomarkers in the diagnosis of diseases
4   To be able to discuss molecular biomarkers that aid in the diagnosis of diseases
5   To be able to select diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers for diseases
