Course Objective

To inform students about crystal structures in metals, defects in the crystal structure, the effects of cold-hot deformations, the concept of recrystallization, welding zones in the fusion welding cross-section and the weldability of steels.

1   Having knowledge about crystal structures in metals and defects in crystal structure
2   Having knowledge about elastic/plastic deformations
3   Having knowledge about the effects of cold/hot deformations
4   Having knowledge about the concepts of diffusion and recrystallization
5   Having detailed information about the weld areas seen in the fusion weld cross-section
6   Having knowledge about the welding ability of steels
