Course Objective

To introduce the most common laboratory techniques used in the field of molecular biology

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to have a solid understanding of the basic laboratory methods used in molecular biology
2   to describe the in silico and wet-lab methods used to predict gene fuction
3   to discuss recombinant DNA technologies
4   to discuss different genome editing technologies
5   to describe the methods used for in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro genome editing
6   to explain the use of molecular biology techniques in functional genomics
7   to be able to perform a literature search and present findings through oral and writter means
