Course Objective

This introductory course aims to provide students with an understanding of the concepts of bioinformatics and computational biology and their applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To describe the concepts of bioinformatics and computational biology
2   To know major molecular biology data repositories
3   To know how to access and to retrieve biological data from public databases
4   To know principles of biological sequence and high-throughput data analysis
5   To understand system level bioinformatics approaches in molecular biology at introductory level
