Course Objective

This course aims to discuss the recent developments on and the applications of genome editing technologies. The participants will understand the potential uses of such technologies in medicine, biology and biotechnology, especially in the context of gene therapy, drug discovery and development, gene regulation and agricultural yield and quality.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the basis of genome editing technology.
2   To explain the different tools in genome editing.
3   To know the potential uses of genome editing in biology and biotechnology.
4   To understand the basis of drug discovery and gene therapy approaches.
5   To understand the basics of CRISPR-Cas9 based drug discovery tools.
