Course Objective

This course is an introductory course in transport management which focuses on main components of transport both in local and global dimensions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn basic terminology and concepts related to the transportation management
2   Explain the transportation system concept in detail, the role of transportation in the logistics and supply chain management system and the main components in the transportation system.
3   Identify characteristics of transportation modes and the main components of these transport modes in detail.
4   Identify the main actors in the transportation industry.
5   Develop skills related to the understanding of economic and service characteristics of intermodal transportation.
