Course Objective

The aim of the course is to enable special education specialists to gain the knowledge, attitude and skills required to work effectively with students with multiple and / or severe disabilities.

1   Explains the general growth and development characteristics of individuals with severe and multiple disabilities.
2   Explains the historical perspective towards individuals with severe and multiple disabilities.
3   Gains knowledge and application of evidence-based teaching approaches used in education of individuals with severe and multiple disabilities.
4   Gains the knowledge and skills required to work with the families of individuals with severe and multiple disabilities.
5   Prepare and apply a sample training program for individuals with severe and multiple disabilities.
